The Southern Boone Economic Development Council (SBEDC) is 100% volunteer-driven. We have no paid staff, which means every dollar you donate goes directly to economic development initiatives that strengthen our business community and improve quality of life for area residents.

What We’ve Accomplished Together
Since 2012, SBEDC has helped bring transformative projects to Southern Boone County:
- YMCA Expansion – Grew from a small shared space to a 17,860 square foot facility serving the entire community
- Ranken Technical College – Opened January 2024, offering vocational education in carpentry, industrial maintenance, and welding
- Baptist Homes of Ashland – Ongoing development since 2018, including independent living, care facilities, and community spaces
- Growing Business Presence – From retail and restaurants to professional services and manufacturers
